What We Believe

God the Father

God is the one and only sovereign Creator and Sustainer of mankind. He is holy and perfect (sinless). He is all-knowing, all-powerful, everywhere present, and eternally existent. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are three distinct persons of one Triune God.  Each person of the Godhead is co-equal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfection.

Jesus Christ

Jesus is “God in the flesh.”  He existed in the beginning with God, and was God. He revealed Himself by being born of a virgin, by the power of the Holy Spirit.  He lived a sinless life and was crucified and died a physical death as atonement for the sins of mankind.  He was the first person to defeat the power of sin and experience a physical and eternal  resurrection.  Jesus will return as the victorious Lord of those who follow Him.

The Holy Spirit

All Christians are sealed with the Holy Spirit. He is our comforter and teacher. He empowers us to understand the Bible, and gives spiritual gifts for the edification of the church.  He teaches us how to follow Jesus in thought, word, deed, and character.

Salvation means that a person has established a trusting faith in Jesus to provide redemption, according to a simple Bible response in Acts 2:38 and  in Romans 10:9, that “If you confess with your mouth Jesus {as} Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. . .”

The Bible

We believe the Bible, in its original writings, is inspired by God and is therefore without error or contradiction. It is the sole authority for our faith and Christian living.
